Lights By Troy

Effective Date: October 23, 2026

Welcome to Lights By Troy! We appreciate the opportunity to help make your home or business shine during the holiday season. As a family-owned and operated business with over 15 years of experience, we take pride in providing professional, dependable, and high-quality holiday lighting services.

By accepting an estimate or service agreement, or authorizing Lights By Troy to begin work, you agree to the following Terms of Service, subject to applicable law.

1. Services Provided

Lights By Troy specializes in professional holiday and Christmas lighting services, which may include:

Custom holiday lighting design and consultation
Installation of Christmas and holiday lights
Guaranteed seasonal maintenance and troubleshooting of installed lighting
Removal of holiday lighting after the season
Additional lighting services as agreed upon in writing

Services will be performed according to the scope outlined in the customer's approved estimate, invoice, or service agreement.

Standard installation pricing includes installation, covered seasonal maintenance, and post-season removal.

Any additional work requested outside the original agreement may result in additional charges, which will be communicated for customer approval before the work is performed.

2. Estimates and Pricing

All estimates are based on the information available at the time of the quote, including property size, roofline measurements, installation complexity, lighting materials, accessibility, and labor requirements.

Estimates may be subject to adjustment if:

Actual property measurements differ significantly from those originally provided.
Additional lighting or decorations are requested.
Unexpected installation challenges are discovered.
Special equipment or additional labor is required.

Any pricing adjustments will be discussed with the customer before additional charges are incurred.

Unless otherwise stated, estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued.

3. Scheduling and Installation

Installation dates are scheduled based on availability, weather conditions, and operational requirements.

While Lights By Troy makes every effort to honor scheduled appointments, installation dates and arrival times may change due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

Rain, wind, lightning, or other unsafe weather conditions
Equipment or material delays
Unforeseen property conditions
Employee illness or emergencies
Other circumstances affecting safety or scheduling

If a scheduled installation must be postponed, we will communicate with the customer and make reasonable efforts to reschedule the service promptly.

For safety reasons, Lights By Troy reserves the right to postpone or discontinue work when conditions are unsafe.

4. Customer Responsibilities

To help ensure a safe and efficient installation, customers agree to:

Provide reasonable access to the property during scheduled service appointments.
Ensure gates, walkways, and work areas are accessible.
Secure pets when necessary for the safety of our technicians.
Inform Lights By Troy of known hazards, damaged structures, electrical issues, or other conditions that could affect installation.
Provide access to properly functioning electrical outlets suitable for the lighting installation.
Obtain any required permission from property owners, homeowners associations, or other governing entities.

Customers are responsible for electricity consumed by their holiday lighting display.

Lights By Troy is not responsible for delays resulting from inaccessible properties, inadequate electrical systems, or missing customer authorizations.

5. Electrical Requirements and Safety

Lights By Troy uses installation methods and equipment intended for professional holiday lighting applications.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that their property's electrical system is properly maintained and capable of supporting the requested lighting display.

Lights By Troy may decline or suspend installation if unsafe electrical conditions are discovered.

We are not responsible for electrical failures, tripped breakers, faulty outlets, or other problems caused by preexisting electrical deficiencies or conditions outside our control.

Customers should not modify, relocate, or tamper with professionally installed lighting or electrical connections.

Any electrical work requiring a licensed electrician must be performed by a properly licensed professional.

6. Lighting Materials and Ownership

Lights By Troy offers lighting arrangements that may vary depending on the customer's needs and approved service agreement.

Customer-Owned Lighting: When the customer purchases lighting materials, ownership of those materials belongs to the customer, as specified in the approved estimate or agreement.

Lights By Troy-Owned Lighting: When lighting materials are provided on a seasonal rental or lease basis, those materials remain the property of Lights By Troy.

The customer's estimate or service agreement will identify the applicable ownership arrangement.

For company-owned lighting, customers agree to make the materials available for removal following the holiday season.

Customers are responsible for notifying Lights By Troy if company-owned equipment is lost, stolen, damaged, or removed by another party.

Any charges for damaged or missing equipment will be limited to those authorized by the service agreement and applicable law.

7. Guaranteed Seasonal Maintenance

Lights By Troy guarantees maintenance of the holiday lighting displays we install throughout the agreed holiday lighting season.

Covered maintenance is included in the installation price at no additional charge.

Our maintenance guarantee includes:

Replacement of burned-out or defective bulbs
Repair of loose or faulty lighting connections
Correction of installation-related lighting failures
Troubleshooting and repair of other covered lighting malfunctions

If a customer experiences an issue with lighting installed by our team, they should contact us as soon as possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to restore the display promptly, subject to weather conditions, technician availability, and safe property access.

The maintenance guarantee applies to lighting installed by Lights By Troy during the agreed service season.

Damage caused by severe weather, animals, vandalism, customer modifications, preexisting electrical problems, or third-party interference is not automatically covered under the maintenance guarantee.

Repairs outside the guarantee may result in additional charges, which will be disclosed and approved before work is performed.

8. Removal of Holiday Lighting

The cost of removing holiday lighting is included in the original installation price. There is no separate standard removal charge.

Lights By Troy will schedule removal following the holiday season.

Removal dates may vary based on weather, scheduling, property access, and operational requirements.

Customers agree to provide reasonable access to the property for removal.

Customers should not attempt to remove company-owned lighting materials without prior authorization.

If removal cannot be completed because the customer fails to provide access, additional scheduling or service charges may apply if disclosed and agreed upon.

9. Payment Terms and Deposit Requirements

A 50% deposit of the total approved project price is required to reserve an installation and secure the customer's place on our schedule.

The deposit will be applied toward the total cost of the project.

The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion of the installation, unless otherwise specified in the customer's approved estimate or service agreement.

By approving services, customers agree to pay all authorized charges according to the agreed payment terms.

Lights By Troy reserves the right to delay scheduling, material purchases, or installation until the required deposit has been received.

Outstanding balances may result in the suspension of additional services or future installations, subject to applicable law and our obligation to perform already-paid-for services.

Any late fees, collection costs, or other charges must be expressly disclosed in the applicable agreement and permitted by law.

10. Cancellations and Refunds

Customers who wish to cancel or reschedule an installation should notify Lights By Troy as soon as possible.

The required 50% deposit reserves installation capacity and may be used to purchase or prepare materials for the customer's project.

If a customer cancels before installation, any refund or deduction from the deposit will be determined by the approved agreement, documented work already performed, authorized nonrecoverable expenses, and applicable law.

If a customer cancels after materials have been specially ordered, prepared, or purchased for their project, the customer may be responsible for authorized, nonrecoverable expenses as specified in the approved agreement.

Any nonrefundable portion of a deposit or cancellation fee must be clearly disclosed and agreed upon before payment.

If Lights By Troy is unable to perform contracted services, we will work with the customer to determine an appropriate rescheduling or refund solution.

11. Property Protection and Installation Risks

Lights By Troy takes reasonable precautions to protect customers' homes, landscaping, roofing, gutters, and other property during installation and removal.

Holiday lighting installations may require temporary attachment methods, including clips, fasteners, or other approved mounting equipment.

Customers acknowledge that certain installation methods may involve minor, disclosed changes to attachment surfaces.

Lights By Troy is responsible for property damage caused by its negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care, subject to applicable law.

We are not responsible for preexisting damage, deterioration, defective building materials, or structural conditions that were not caused by our services.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so is prohibited by law.

12. Weather, Animals, and External Damage

Outdoor holiday lighting is exposed to weather and environmental conditions.

Lights By Troy cannot guarantee that lighting displays will remain unaffected by:

Severe storms or unusually high winds
Falling branches or debris
Rodents, birds, or other animals
Vandalism or theft
Power outages or electrical surges
Interference by third parties

We will make reasonable efforts to assist customers with repairs when possible. Repairs not covered by our seasonal maintenance guarantee may involve additional charges.

13. Customer Modifications

For safety and warranty purposes, customers should not alter, relocate, splice, disconnect, or otherwise modify lighting installed by Lights By Troy without prior authorization.

Unauthorized modifications may affect maintenance coverage for resulting problems.

Lights By Troy is not responsible for damage or malfunctions directly caused by unauthorized customer or third-party modifications.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Lights By Troy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for negligence, property damage, personal injury, fraud, or other matters to the extent such limitations are prohibited by applicable law.

Any additional limitations of liability included in a customer's individual service agreement must comply with applicable law.

15. Photographs and Marketing

Lights By Troy may photograph completed lighting installations for internal documentation and quality assurance purposes.

We will obtain customer permission before using photographs that identify a private residence, display an identifiable address, or otherwise disclose private information for public marketing purposes.

Customers may contact us with questions or concerns regarding photographs of their property.

16. Service Guarantee

Our goal is to provide professional installations and outstanding customer service.

In addition to our seasonal maintenance guarantee, we stand behind the quality of our installation workmanship.

If a customer believes that an installation does not meet the agreed scope of work or our workmanship standards, we encourage them to contact us promptly.

Lights By Troy will review the concern and, when appropriate, correct installation-related deficiencies at no additional charge.

Any specific warranty duration or additional guarantee will be stated in the customer's service agreement.

17. Changes to Services

Customers may request changes to their lighting design, installation layout, or service package.

Requested modifications may affect pricing, material requirements, and scheduling.

Any additional charges will be communicated and approved before the modified work begins.

Lights By Troy reserves the right to decline modifications that cannot be completed safely or reasonably.

18. Website Use and Privacy

Information submitted through our website, including contact forms and estimate requests, will be used to respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, schedule services, and communicate with customers.

Customers agree not to misuse our website, submit fraudulent requests, or interfere with its normal operation.

19. Communications

By providing contact information, customers agree that Lights By Troy may contact them regarding estimates, appointments, installations, maintenance, invoices, and other service-related matters.

Communications may be made by phone, email, or text message as permitted by law.

Marketing text messages, where offered, will require any consent mandated by applicable law. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of purchasing services.

Customers may request changes to their communication preferences at any time.

20. Changes to These Terms

Lights By Troy reserves the right to update these Terms of Service periodically.

Updated terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date.

Changes will generally apply to future services and transactions. Existing service agreements will remain subject to their accepted terms unless the parties agree otherwise or applicable law requires a change.
